Introducing SHIELDPAD Series.
SHIELDPAD is a personal dosimeter that provides fast and accurate radiation measurement!
Looking for a way to get alarms immediately in dangerous situations?
Suitable from professionals to travellers.
Compact size that fits in your palm [44.3 x 53.5 x 21.3 (mm), 60g]. Users can easily carry SHIELDPAD around in their pockets, stick it on a surface/wall, hang it to their bags, etc.
Easy to use with only 1 button.
Fast & Accurate.
1-second measurement with high accuracy. (±15% of uncertainty)
Affordable price, suitable for broad audience from professionals to the general public.
SHIELDPAD has a scintillator developed by M1 International. A solid-state sensor is one of the major improvements that enables its powerful properties.
SHIELDPAD is about half the size of a credit card and fits in one hand. (Width x height x thickness: 44.3 x 53.5 x 21.3(mm))
As SHIELDPAD is small and light(60g), it’s convenient to hold it in your hand or hang it on a bag.
You can quickly measure the surrounding radiation by displaying the measured radiation on the screen every second.
We have significantly lowered the cost and improved accessibility by producing the radiation detection sensor ourselves.
With our self-developed radiation detection sensor, we have achieved practicality and accuracy at once. (Completed verification through the Korean Accreditation Organization (KOLAS))
In power saving mode, you can measure up to 500 hours continuously.
The spatial dose rate can be measured from 0.09µSv/h. (Displayed change in measurement: 0.001 μSv/h)
Accurate with ± 15% of uncertainty!
All operations are possible with just one button.

Q. What value is considered “safe”?
The amount of background radiation differs from region to region, but world average is 2.4mSv/year.
Therefore, the average background radiaiton is 0.27µSv/h.
Exposure to radiation might not bring immediate harm, but years of accumulation can result in serious problems. It is strongly recommended to get out of environments that show extreme radioactivity.
Q. The value comes out way higher than expected. What’s going on?
A. Exposure dose may come out higher than average if there is a radioactive matter nearby or if you are at a contaminated region.
Other reasons might be that you are traveling high altitude areas or flying in the sky. The atmosphere protects us from radiation from the sun and the outer space. As you go up, the atmosphere above becomes thinner, and less radiation can be screened.
Q. Can I measure radiaiton of foods and beverages with SHIELDPAD?
A. SHIELDPAD measures radiation straight from the air, but it cannot measure that of food and drinks.
It is only possible in a special occasion when the surface pollution is very high by using gamma-ray detection. Alpha-ray and beta-ray are not taken into account.
